Ford Crashed Jeep's Moab Party With Cool Bronco Concepts
For decades, the world-known Easter Safari event held in Moab, Utah, has been Jeep’s playground. The FCA’s off-road brand has used it to showcase new models, introduce new concepts and show off its vehicles' all-terrain capabilities.
However, in 2021, Ford decided to barge in and steal the show with several interesting Bronco concepts that are designed not only to showcase the brand new Wrangler fighter, but also to present the enormous customization potential of Ford’s newest SUVs.
While Ford calls these vehicles concepts, we believe that the term “prototype” is more appropriate, since they are not showcars nor are they built from scratch. These are regular production models, but thoroughly customized by three of the best-known names in the off-road accessories world – RTR Vehicles, ARB 4x4 Accessories, and 4 Wheel Parts.
Each of the Broncos presented are equipped with accessories and parts developed and produced by these companies. This is not equipment offered by Ford or its dealers; these are aftermarket components that will be available shortly after the first 2021 Broncos hit the streets and the trails.
RTR Vehicles Bronco
RTR Vehicles is a well-known company to off-road and muscle car fans ever since Vaughn Gittin Jr. made his name building and racing high-performance Mustangs and off-road vehicles. In fact, he just finished the famous King of The Hammers event in an ULTRA 4400 Unlimited Bronco race truck.
For Easter Safari in Moab, Utah, Vaughn and his team took a Badlands 4-door Bronco and gave it the complete RTR treatment. This includes RTR Vehicles sports custom RTR rock sliders and rear bumper, RTR 3D-printed grille with simulated accent lights, plus 35-inch Nitto Ridge Grappler tires mounted to RTR Tech-6 wheels.
A roof-mounted Project X lightbar, custom RTR graphics, and a 12-volt Type S Blizzard Box with refrigerator and freezer mounted in the trunk were also installed.
ARB 4x4 Accessories Bronco
It's interesting that Ford has chosen the Australian company for this project. Although the ARB 4x4 is a well-known name in the business, Ford, at least for now, has no plans of selling the Bronco, equipped with right-hand-drive for the market Down Under. However, ARB 4x4 Accessories did their best and turned a 4-door Badlands Bronco into something really special and recognizable.
ARB approached this project a bit differently, concentrating on off-road usability with airbag-compliant front and rear bumpers, heavy-duty rock sliders, and differential cover, plus essential off-road accessories like an ARB twin compressor and jack. Interestingly, this company also decided to equip its Bronco with a refrigerator and freezer box to keep those beers cold on the trail.
4 Wheel Parts Bronco Sport
The third company in this project is the famous 4 Wheel Parts, which has been involved in selling and designing off-road equipment for decades. Their Bronco is based on the Black Diamond Sport model and features a mix of their own components and parts from other companies.
The 4 Wheel Parts Bronco Sport is designed to both conquer any terrain and be a usable camping vehicle. That's why it's equipped with a modular front bumper, skid plate and winch platform, heavy-duty suspension components, custom roof rack, and light mounts, plus a Smittybilt overhead tent and camping gear, awning, and refrigerator/air system. It rides on 37-inch BFGoodrich® mud-terrain tires mounted to 17-inch Method alloy wheels.
