2021 Ford Bronco Deliveries Delayed Until Summer, Sasquatch-equipped Broncos with Manual until 2022

With the excitement surrounding the 2021 Bronco and Bronco Sport reaching atmospheric levels reminiscent of the Ford Mustang and its instant popularity, news of delaying the deliveries of the 2021 Bronco was understandably not well-received by would-be buyers of the model.

Ford had already released all there is to know about new models. Their unique combination of modern technology, cool retro-futuristic design, and off-road capabilities made the new Bronco the talk of the industry for the last year or so -- even for those not particularly interested in off-roading, the 2021 Bronco is undeniably very appealing.

However, there have been some significant problems with the production of the new models. While 2021 Bronco Sport deliveries are going as planned, with the first examples arriving in the dealerships as you read this article, such is not the case with its stablemate, the 2021 Bronco.

It's been plagued by supply issues stemming from German-based company Webasto, responsible for the production of the model's removable plastic hardtops -- one of the Bronco's key design features.

While it remains unconfirmed, it appears that Webasto hasn't been able to deliver as many units as needed, due to both coronavirus-related logistical problems and a demand level that proved much higher than Webasto had expected.

Ford originally planned to start delivering new Broncos by the March of 2021, but now it's been officially announced that this deadline has been moved to  summer of next year. 

Customers who have reserved their 2021 Bronco will have until March 19 to finalize their build sheets and complete their orders.

In further news, Bronco fans seeking the coveted Sasquatch package, which includes a 310 hp, 2.7-liter EcoBoost V6 paired with a 7-speed manual gearbox, will have to wait until the 2022 model year to take delivery of their vehicle.

Ford had initially announced that the Sasquatch package would be offered only with an automatic transmission, but later decided to make it available with manual as well. While this is a fantastic drive train combo offering an entirely new off-road experience, the manual transmissions are apparently somewhat more complicated to produce, so Ford needs a bit more time.
